About Elise
Village Idiom was born in 2000 and has evolved with the Yarraville community over the years to meet the changing needs and tastes of the community and the area. Having worked in retail for most of my adult life, I always dreamed of curating a space full of the things that I love and a lovely experience for any one who comes in to the store. Since taking over 5 years ago I have been overjoyed to be able to support the local community, local artists, and my customers.
I believe that shopping in a bricks and mortar store should be an enjoyable experience. When you shop with us you walk away with a story, a smile, or a laugh, and have hopefully found that one special thing that has captured your imagination, made you feel like a million dollars, or that perfect gift that will bring a smile to someone’s face or brighten their day.
Having worked in cosmetics, fashion, costume, giftware and the arts for over 30 years, I love putting together the perfect gift or outfit and seeing my customers leave with a smile on their beautiful faces!
Being a part of this beautiful village and community is a dream come true and I look forward to sharing the experience with you.
